Targeted Students: Students with several or no career goals, but interested in learning more about the career(s) and the skills necessary to succeed in the career(s)
Student Benefit: Students in a job shadow benefit by (1) receiving the opportunity to explore different careers, (2) obtaining knowledge that only comes from being on site, (3) being able to determine whether or not this career is a good fit for them, and (4) networking with different professionals with the hopes of opening up avenues for work in the future.
Partner Benefit: Partners hosting a job shadow benefit by (1) gaining exposure for their business/organization, (2) meeting students that might be great candidates further down the road, and (3) gaining an understanding of what types of students are emerging from high school.
The Role This Partner Would Fill: Partners that invite a student to shadow their job will be responsible for bringing that student around with them throughout the day to get the full experience of what it is like to work in that particular field. Partners will also have to opportunity to talk with the student about their career as well as answer questions the student might have.
